“Down We Go” by Madi Diaz (Jensen Sportag’s Trust Fall Remix)

I’ve been meaning to post this one for the past couple of weeks because the remixed production work channels some of my favorite aspects of freestyle music and I imagine that if any style of music is due for sampling, remixing, and loving tributes, it is freestyle. Right now, it sounds like my favorite genre of music (the infectious, joyful electronic and dance) is at a turning point, and I anticipate some major breakthroughs in 2012. I’m not talking about the mainstream, which has veered in a strange direction, but rather the underground and independent musicians still experimenting and discovering sounds, trying to make them their own.
