“Watching You Without Me” by Kate Bush

I’m currently going through my “intense,” twice a year Kate Bush moment. It’s been a recurring moment for me since my late teens and each time, it hits me by surprise. The progression for this moment began with the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago choreographer’s use of Chromatics, followed by the Chromatics concert last Wednesday, followed by an intense immersion into the band’s catalog, finally landing on their near-perfect cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God).” And now, five days later, I am here, falling back into the music of one of the most eclectic, important, and interesting singers. It’s a nice feeling.
