“Spoons” by Rudimental featuring MNEK and Syron

The xx’s tumblr may be fantastic insight into their influences and inspirations for their upcoming sophomore album, but it also serves as a great introduction to a lot of music I was unaware of, including this fantastic song. It’s a subtle and sweet number, danceable without being too heavy or confrontational in the steadiness of the beats. It reminds me of what you hear early or late in the night, when most people have yet to arrive or are starting to leave the club. It’s a little smoother than the peak mood of the dance floor.
