“The Fall” by Frankie Rose
Just like “Interstellar,” epic and cinematic, is a perfect album opener, “The Fall” is one of the most striking and beautiful closing songs from an album I’ve ever heard. I don’t say that lightly. I heard it for the first time Saturday morning after a quiet evening out, maybe around 1:30am, and I couldn’t stop listening to it. I realize I say that about a lot of songs, but with this one, I am speaking as honestly as possible. The musical touchstones - Arthur Russell and Julianna Barwick, to name two - are present, but not overpowering and the listener is left with this song, so stunning.
Reblogging because I don’t have this yet and how many times can I listen to “Know Me” on repeat? The album is out...
