NEW FIELD MUSIC!

My love affair with Field Music is never ending it seems. I’ve briefly touched upon my love for the band, especially during my freshman and sophomore years of college. The number of times I listened to “In Context” or “You’re So Pretty” is embarrassing.

A few years ago, I wrote an “open letter” to the band on my more personal blog, upset over their impending “hiatus” and what that term really means (I even compared its use to the demise of My So-Called Life). The shows they had played were performed at 21+ venues and I was only 19-years-old. It seemed I would never get to see one of my favorite groups live. Eventually, my little blog made its way to The Brothers Brewis (David and Peter Brewis), the front men for Field Music, and David left a nice, long comment that made my year. I’m completely serious when I say that.

With that said, what a wonderful surprise it was to see that Field Music were not only back together but they also plan on releasing a new record, on February 16, and have a single ready to be beloved. ALSO! They’re doing a mini-tour to debut songs from their new album, Measure. The group will make two stops in the US: Brooklyn and CHICAGO. In an effort to sound even more self-centered, I will state that it is like someone out there was especially looking out for me, making sure my teenage dreams were fulfilled.
